The historical "Landhotel Tetens Gasthof" has a long tradition. Since 1739, the nostalgic thatched roof house is used as a public house and it is nowadays a romantic refuge in the middle of Süderlügum impressed with heartier hospitality.
"It is easier to get through the purgatory than without whams through Lügum." This was said about 1816 as a raw climate blew in the village when in springtime and autumn thousands of cattle, pigs and sheep were herded through the little village Süderlügum on the old oxen trail to the cattle markets in Husum and Hamburg. That day's was the today´s "Landhotel Tetens Gasthof", a gathering place for the drovers which brought very good mood in the inn's.
In 1882 Lewe Lorenzen bought for his daughter and her husband the estate. Besides the inn there were also a post office and a nine pins alley.
